Spring quarter is starting and through all the initial chaos and perplexities, I was left with a schedule that had my days begin at 9:15 and end at 12:50. There were moments when I was contemplating if I should go to school everyday. I thought about some night classes, some early morning classes, and I was ready to shoot myself in the foot if I didn't figure anything out by the second day of class. Personally, going to school everyday wouldn't have been a problem. The small exception is that I work, and this would totally screw up everything at I-Key-Ah, leaving me with a measly paycheck every two weeks and monthly payments that don't pay themselves. Also, Pomona is a 30 miles away. Even though driving eighty makes the ride seem quick, it does put a toll on you and your gas tank, which adds to the addiction of gasoline I wish I could avoid. So the everyday schedule was immediately thrown out.
I was stuck with eight units, and I put all my money on trying to add a math class to reach the magic number of twelve units. I walked into the class and saw this small little Vietnamese professor wearing some 80's shades and a hideous jacket trying to regulate a classroom full of "calculus" students. Did I really want to go through this? A quarter of hell that required some type of translator to explain to me what the hell my professor was saying? The answer to that question is yes. This is college and you grab onto whatever they throw at you. I added the class and I rounded out my schedule for what seems like to be my first challenging quarter at cal poly. Wow, there is a god.
In other news...
I'm desperately trying to find a new job. The Swedish monster that is IKEA has been killing me lately, with some idiotic customers that you wish can leave the store in a body bag, and corrupted managers who think that their job is the shit. The only reason I report for duty every Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday is their flexible scheduling. My manager is pretty cool too, even though that is a rarity in the store. I don't think going to some other hourly place will help, unless it had higher pay. So, I am now stuck in an inevitable conundrum that has been smacking me in the face the last two months. (Oh ya, that was SUPER cheeeessyy.)
